What People Say
Most Liked
The defining feature at Ray's Pizza is undoubtedly the remarkable thin-crust pizza. One bite reveals its perfectly cooked, non-greasy texture that keeps folks coming back. Many patrons rave about the Steak and Cheese Special Pizza, often mentioning it as their absolute favorite. Generous portions are another highlight—both the antipasto salad and soups offer value that feels like a feast. Customers love that it’s a cash-only place, which adds to its no-frills charm. Another perk is the friendly staff; even when busy, the service remains engaging and personable. Tasting their chicken tenders is also a must—crunchy and flavorful, they frequently make appearances on diners’ plates as a sought-after appetizer.
Most Disliked
While Ray's Pizza shines in many respects, there are a few points of contention among patrons. The cash-only policy can catch some visitors off guard, especially those expecting to pay with card. This restriction sometimes leads to inconvenience. Another frequent mention is the wait time during peak hours, particularly on Friday nights. Lines can form quickly, and with limited staff, taking orders may feel rushed. Although the casual vibe is a significant draw, some diners feel the seating arrangements can become cramped when the restaurant fills up. High traffic days may lead to noise and bustle that disrupt the cozy dining experience.

It's a take to go restaurant that's a huge city favorite for pizza, which is a small thin crust "tavern" style pizza. Great taste at great prices with some great tasting dinners and salads also!

Very delicious pizza, even better chicken tenders! When we went, it was one person working by himself. He was cranking out 4-9 pizza per order and he was still very kind and polite! Heads up though they only take cash.

Ray’s is some of THE best pizza in New Bedford if not the whole SouthCoast. The place may be unassuming, nothing flashy about the joint, no banks of wide screen tvs or $12 mixed drinks, but who needs any of that when you can just have good food. Their thin crust is very very similar to south shore bar pizza and absolutely delicious. Their antipasto is enormous. Enough for at least two meals. Good dressing too, not just cheap packets. We’ve only had some of their pasta but it was also really well done and the portions were huge. Prices are fantastic. We got four pizzas, fries and an order of cheese with sauce for right around $50 the other day. Ray’s is an absolute must if you’re local and if you’re not it’s worth the stop if you’re in the area. Even my kids (3 and 5) love it.

Food is good once again. Not much of a place of atmosphere but very good for takeout as that is pretty much what it's been designed for. Good pizza and good lasagna also the salads we've had were good .

If you like thin crust pizza, this is the best place around. Especially the linguiça, the flavor is the best. Has a very big, loaded with cheese and meat sauce, lasagna. Think it's made in a loaf pan. Made fresh to order so it takes a while but well worth the wait. Very reasonable for the size and quality at $10. Many things I haven't had but when you start off with these 2 things, it's hard to have anything else. Very small place but dining room is not open yet. Mostly a takeout place anyway. No delivery (that I know of) and cash only.
